Buddha Guanyin Talisman
"Buddha Guanyin Talisman" is used in Taoism, Buddhism. Chinese and Asian folks belief it has the function of preventing evil. The "six-character talisman" has been blessed by the god of Quanyin and other gods of Tenmu Temple in Taichung Taiwan, bypassing the incense burner, and has become magically effective.
The "six-character talisman" is a well-known talisman in eastern countries. When believers travel, or work in special places, or go to cemeteries or funeral homes, they are easy to be infected with evil spirits. The talisman is used for get rid of all bad spirits. Asian also post the talisman outside of front door and a piece of red paper when neighborhood has funeral cemetery.
Burning the talisman and throwing the ashes into the water mixed with boiled hot water and raw cold water is so called "Guanyin Saint Water" or "Yin Yang Water". Bathing the baby with the saint water for calming mood, the baby will be obedient and healthy. When buying a house or a new car, some people will splash the saint water around the house or car for future safety. After the funeral, the family will wash their body with 'Guanyin Saint Water" according to the custom. The mourners will use their fingers touching the saint water spraying on the face to wash away bad luck.
Instructions--
Hanging: posted on the door outside the house, used for funerals in neighbors, or accidental deaths nearby.
Carry: Fold the talisman in half with the front side facing out, keep it in your wallet or hung on the chest. Generally cannot be brought into the toilet, and must be taken off when going to the toilet. If you must bring it into the toilet, you must wrap it with red paper (red envelope) and you cannot enter the toilet without covering. However, modern people often put it in their pockets or in their wallets and do not take them out when going to the toilet, so there is no such taboo.
Guanyin saint water (yin yang water): incinerate the talisman in a water container then pour in boiled hot water then raw cold water, spray it on your face, chest, hands, or splash it at home . Some people add calamus, lemongrass, peach branches, wormwood, moss, banyan leaves, etc. into the saint water, which are considered to be more magically effective. The remaining rune water cannot be poured into the toilet or sewage ditch. The most respected method is to spill it on a river or stream, or at least spill it on a clean place outdoors.
Amulet
In Eastern folk beliefs, amulets can bring good luck to the owner or protect the owner, so that he can avoid bad luck and ghosts. Different human races have different beliefs in amulets according to their own cultures. The Chinese Taoist talisman is the main amulet of China and Asian countries.
